1: Build fundamentals movement skills such as agility, balance, coordination (ABC). Each one of these are vital to developing footwork. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2: Develop generic agility. This is usually ladder drills such as open and close etc which the footwork patterns are general and not specific to any footwork specific to the sport.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3: Next is when we develop TKD specific footwork patterns and steps such as shifting, pivoting etc. These can then be chained and linked to techniques and combination steps.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4: Now that we have footwork patterns in isolation from step 3 we can begin to put these into semi live environments. This is basically a limited version of sparring which specifically creates the various patterns based on the practice design set up by the coach. The idea here is to allow variable reps as well as perception and action to be coupled. This is vital that we have a partner/opponent to perceive their movements and actions to train our brain to act accordingly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

5: We can now beging to put the footwork movements,steps and patterns into live free sparring.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
